Measuring Indonesian EFL Learners’ English Vocabulary Knowledge: A Rasch Analysis Approach

This study sought to, first, measure Indonesian EFL learners’ vocabulary knowledge across four modalities, i.e. Active Recall, Passive Recognition, and Recognition; second, determine whether or not there were statistically significant differences between male female participants’ third, the modalities correlated. Data collected by administering sets of tests to 71 learners at an English Department a higher education institution in Indonesia. analyzed using Rasch analysis Spearman's-Rho correlation technique. The results showed that participants performed better on recognition than recall tests. No difference was found knowledge. Moderate strong correlations among Recall Recognition Recognition.
